About

Houston's home building industry, introduced to itself.

The Metropolitan Builder is a monthly print and digital trade publication serving Greater Houston's home building industry — read by the builders, remodelers, and designers it profiles, and by the homeowners planning their next build.

Our Approach

Referral first. Editorial, not advertorial.

A noteworthy indicator of professionalism is reflected through the eyes of one's peers — that idea sits at the center of everything The Metropolitan Builder does. The building professionals we feature have been referred by their peers in the industry, not simply purchased placement.

Each issue pairs a Cover Story or Inside Story — a professionally written profile of a builder, remodeler, or designer — with product features, design trend columns, and a "Dialogue With A Designer" interview. Suppliers and vendors who support the industry get their own path: category-exclusive branding, referred leads, and a monthly networking group built around passing real business to real people.

The result is one publication doing three jobs at once: helping homeowners find who to hire, helping building professionals tell their story, and helping the suppliers and vendors behind the scenes get in front of the people who buy from them.

Membership & standing.

The Metropolitan Builder is a member of the Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA).

Recognized on industry directories including Community Home Guide, with an active presence on Facebook and LinkedIn.
